Light and Darkness: Schubert’s Death and the Maiden

Experience metamorphosis through music at the beloved Barns of Rose Hill. The program features the US Premiere of Natalie Klouda’s Alma Rosé, Max Richter’s cinematic On the Nature of Daylight, and the returning Vaughan-Williams Piano Quintet. The evening culminates with Schubert’s Death and the Maiden — a masterpiece exploring the ultimate metamorphosis of the human spirit — performed in Gustav Mahler’s celebrated expanded arrangement for string ensemble.
