Born in the isolation of COVID, one of Shares’ core values has always been creating opportunities to gather our beloved community together in fellowship and joy.
While much of our work focuses on meeting basic needs, we recognize that survival alone is not enough. Art, fellowship, celebration, and shared experiences are also essential parts of a healthy community.

Past Events
Gatherings that bring neighbors together
Over the years, Shepherdstown Shares has helped create community events that celebrate local connection, support neighbors, and bring people together around shared care.
The People’s Ball
Shares provides an annual fee-free New Year’s Eve celebration inviting our community to dance the night away together while welcoming the new year with goodwill and joy.
Shepherdstown Senior Prom
In partnership with local students and community supporters, Shares helped create a night of fun and celebration honoring Shepherdstown’s extraordinary elders.
Cookout at the Pantry
A free meal and fellowship opportunity invited the whole community to visit the pantry, share food, enjoy music, and spend time together.
Support Our Teachers Benefit
Shares has supported local teachers through benefit events and supply drives for Shepherdstown Elementary and Shepherdstown Middle School.
The People’s Bowl
Created as a thank-you to the community, The People’s Bowl gave pantry clients and the wider community an opportunity to share the same table.
