The Legacy of Robert C. Byrd Through Ten Objects from his Congressional Archives – Historic Shepherdstown Speaker Series

Melanie Garvey, Archivist of the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education, will talk about the legacy of Senator Robert Byrd’s long and distinguished congressional career through a selection of ten objects from his archives at the Byrd Center. Following the talk, the objects will be available for viewing and tours through the collections will be available to highlight the archival process. This is the third of four 2026 talks in the Historic Shepherdstown Speaker Series.
