More than being a traitor, Arnold was regarded as the best soldier in America, achieving astounding successes on land and sea. Understanding this complex person within the context of the American Revolution is essential to comprehending how he changed the course of the war. Blane Ampthor is a retired federal employee with a lifelong interest in history.
