Now it is 8.3 billion. Due to decades of declining birthrates worldwide, demographers have begun to warn that the threat has shifted from too many people in our future to not enough. Jerry Collins has taught writing at Syracuse University, as well as writing and Asian Studies for the University of Maryland/Asian Division.
