An overview of how changing landscapes, over hundreds of millions of years—focusing upon 22,000 years ago to present—have affected the Potomac River, its watershed, and surrounding areas. Jim Cummins is a fisheries biologist and aquatic ecologist who served as Director of Living Resources for the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin from 1988 to 2016.
